I was going through my old notes from back in the day and stumbled across the Chicago Data Dictionary details. It turns out I’ve since been disconnected from the project itself (I can’t remember which email address or login I used when I committed changes) even though I wrote it. It happens… 😉
Anyway, there were a number of articles written about the project (now called Metalicious). I think there may have actually been a press conference about it as well (way back in the day – 2013), but I’m not 100% sure on that.
Articles about the Chicago Data Dictionary:

Anyway, I wanted to archive some of these articles because I thought it was kind of cool how much publicity it received from quite a few places (FastCompany, Harvard University, etc.) and (I think) even in some books:
- The Responsive City: Engaging Communities Through Data-Smart Governance [By: Stephen Goldsmith and Susan Crawford]
- Seeing Cities Through Big Data: Research, Methods and Applications in Urban Informatics (Springer Geography) [Edited by Piyushimita (Vonu) Thakuriah, Nebiyou Tilahun, Moira Zellner]
I was still able to be the man behind the curtain. 🙂
